The sights

Rostov-on-Don attracts everybody. It is a very good tourists centre now because of it's bright architecture.

But first of all, I'd like to say some words about Rostov. Rostov is located on three hills on the right bank of the Don River. The region has a very rich history that begins with the northernmost colony the Greeks ever founded. The city has many important features, such as one of Europe’s biggest theaters, headquarters of large companies, and even Europe’s most extensive cemetery. Rostov’s skyline is very distinct and memorable, topped by the golden domes of the Central Cathedral and its bell tower, the slanted roof of Rostov Opera Theater, the Stella that reaches over 60 meters in height, the 120-meter TV Mast, and a number of residential highrise buildings...

Universities

Welcome to Rostov. I think it is the best city in Russia. I was born here and I like it very much. May be it is because I haven't seen other places, exept Moscow. But I don't like it because of it's fuss. OK, for the nearest 10 or 15 minutes i'm your guide. And now i am going to tell you about our main educational establishments. Now we have a united which includes all high estalishments of our city. i'd like to tell you about two of them, in few words. The famoust, I suppose, is Rostov State University. There are a lot of faculties for any taste, such as faculty of maths, biology, geography, psychology, linguistic - the most interesting for me- and others. I was going there, but at the last moment i changed my mind. And now my University is Pedagogical one.We have a big choise of faculties. Linguistic is rather popular among youth. We also have an art departure and all walls are decorated with pictures.

Free time

Rostov it's a very big city. There are many cafes, clubs, cinemas, restaurents, parks, theatres, shops. Youth theatre it's one of the most beautiful theatre in the city. "Embargo" it's megaclub of Rostov. There are bars and restaurants as wel is vip zone there. There are the most fashionable DJs and good club music.

Weather

If you like to have fun, to spend time with friendly hospitable people - welcome to our city! They suppose, the best time to visit South Russia is spring when the trees are in full blossom, people begin to put off their warm clothes but if you want to find out what russian winter is - than January is your month! But be sure not to forget warm boots, some sweaters, gloves and a scarf in order not to become a snowman. If you decide to visit native Sholohov's places in summer, you'd better have sunglasses and t-shirts and a cap with you or you can get a sunstrike because the temperature is somewhere about +40°C! Well, if you are too fussy about getting wet, you can pack your umbrella too, but i can't say it rains too much here. Take care and have a good time!
