What is “Planetarium”?

All stars (for 6th enormity's class), which can be seen with the naked eye. Artificial sky is made of 31 different projectors, which fit sitting in hollow globe with diameter 220mm. Light comes from a projection with transparency. There are a lot of holes in star slab. The pictures of different projectors affect each other without any breaks and make together an impression of star sky over the horizon. Stars under the horizons are not visible because functional diaphragms add respective rays. When the star skies rotate it is made appreciable conditions, like nature. The main part of apparatus is a star globe with through openings point-stars. Pointed electro lamp is situated in the centre of it. Projection of its filament on the dome between different sizes openings and create impression of star-sky. Sun and all planets which can be seen with the naked eye are shown in a little planetarium as regards their relative position to stars with the help of mobile and swap special projectors. Moon's projector of a small planetarium is constructed like a projector of planets. Additional adaptation setup continuity change period of moon. From the history of Planetarium.

People have been waiting for opening of the [1]planetarium for many years. The beginning of subjugation of space was started. That is why the valuable initiative of the Museum of Local Lore of Perm tо buy apparatus and organize the work of planetarium in 1960 was met with great pleasure. [2]Plohinski Alex Andreevich and Tiunova Ludmila Nikolaevna were the first lectors. One must reserve tickets to manage to go to the show. In 1961, a small green buggy of planetarium began to go around the Perm region. The lectures were Svetlana Vasilievna Serova, Nina Alexandrovna Kaftunova, Vera Vladimirovna Romanovskaya, Ludmila Sergeevna Godninova and Georgi Nikolaevich Chagin was a cashier (nowadays he is a professor of PSU). By initiative of collaborators of museums small planetariums began working in Perm regions: in Berezniki's museum - on the 14th of August, 1960, in Gubaha - on the 23rd of April, 1961, in Solikamsk, on the 22nd of April, 1962 and in this year in Kungur. The Perm Local Lore Museum worked not only in the city, but also in Perm region, especially in the South of the region, in such towns as Barda, Kueda, Chernushka. People accept the planetarium with joy and enthusiasm everywhere, which can be explained. There were years of the first flight into space, the flight of Yuri Gagarin around the Earth. People helped to organize everything with great pleasure. The first director was Frolova Valentina Ivanovna who took a really great holding in significance of planetarium file in Russia. Perm Planetarium was opened on the 12th of April in 1968. Before this event P.Belyaev and A.Leonov have been to our city. They have handed to A.A.Plohinski the badge of a member of All-Union astronomical commune. A.A.Plohinski was born on the 8th of April, 1925, in Smolensk region. After 9th form he went to the front as a volunteer. He was wounded. Alex finished the war in Austria. Then he came to Russia and finished secondary school. After that he entered Perm Station University and studied at mathematical faculty. In 1960-1961 he worked in the Museum of Local Lore as a lector of aplanetarium. Alex actively participated in propaganda of natural science knowledge between people of the city and region. He was a responsible secretary of region organization "Znanie". With I.K. Posyaginim and V.I. Frolovoi, he installed apparatus. In 1983 Baltina Taisiya Leontievna became the director of planetarium. She made Association of planetariums of Russia where she was the member №1. She led an active community work. In planetarium work experierced Methodist of lection work: Bessonova Elena Alexeevna, Fukalova Tatiana Genadievna, lector Pervushina Lubov Vadimovna. In honour of 40-th anniversary of flight Yu.A.Gagarin was carried out " Space marafon ", which bright event became start of models of rockets constructed by the members of a circle.

At Planetarium people can visit not only lectures about the space but also different exhibitions. For example, nowadays you can see the exhibition of students from college №65.

Perm Planetarium is situated in Motovilihinski district of Perm near the Circus. Adress: 614077, Russia, Perm, Gagarin Street 27a. Phone (3422) 604129, fax 604748. Reservation: phone 260 - 41 - 29. Lectures: 10.00, 11.30, 13.00, 14.30, 16.00, 17.00, 18.00, 19.00 – every day. It doesn’t work at weekends in summer and on Monday during the academic year. Prices: for adults – 50 r., for children and pupils – 25 r. Group application: 2604129. The smallest group 25 people, the biggest – 140. Every Saturday at 16.00 preferential lecture (retired people 5r., children 3r.)
