Barda region was founded in 1924 and it occupies the territory of 2382,3 km2.The population of it is 29247 people. Different nationalities live here. Most of them are tatars and bashkirs. There are 65 settlements here. The largest villages are Barda, Sarashy, Yelpachiha.
