Children of the Corn is the 11th official studio album from Sopor Aeternus & The Ensemble of Shadows and the third and final part of "A Triptychon of GHOSTS".

The album was released on the 26ßth of Novenber, 2011 in two different - both limited and exclusive - editions. One of which is a 36 page hardcover book, wrapped in jute-bag with cord and black logo printed on backside, signed by the artist (Anna-Varney Cantodea)and with an exclusive T-shirt (limited to 1999 copies). The other is a 12 vinyl with two posters, T-shirt (which is diffetent than the CD version), also wrapped in jute-box and carefully sealed by Anna-Varney. Both editions are considered to be of the greate value among the music - collectors.

First "Children of the Corn" was announced on Infrarot(As all the othres albums before). Infos about the album: "Ghosts are walking balefully through the blood-red cornfield, where our black Goddess - the fabulous, transgendered Saint-Varney-of-the-Dead - is celebrating the third chapter of her magical sexorcism in a dark ritual of ultimate neutralisation. Her gentle, claw-like hands are brandishing a rusty, old castration-sickle, while she herself, as the purest incarnation of loveliest maidenhood, intones childlike phantasies of innocent masturbation with the voice of a broken angel.

In this gothic-pagan masterpiece of delicate perversion, a whole array of stringed instruments, bells and music-boxes are skilfully combining fragile moments of calm and security with powerful eruptions of dynamic insanity in that typical, unique Sopor manner.

As this crowning finale of the trilogy 'A Triptychon O Ghosts' unfolds, the artful expulsion of demons that is 'Children of the Corn' once again proves that Anna-Varney Cantodea is indeed the most important Death-artist the gothic underground scene has ever brought forth.
