Rojdestvensky archaeological complex covers several protrusions of left bank the Obvа river, right tributary of the Kama river, in the 1300-1900 m to the south-west of the central part. Christmas Karagai district of the Perm region. The complex includes a medieval Rozhdestvensky and Filippov, the pre-Mongol cemetery, adjacent to the eastern part of the defensive structures of large towns, and isolated a medieval necropolis. The complex also includes Volginskoe sanctuary.


Rozhdestvensky settlement got its name in hohour of Rozhdestvensky village. The second name of the settlement – Postanogovskoe. The buildings of this village damaged the necropolis, located on the this place, the most. Filippovsky settlement was named after Philippi village located approximately one kilometer west of the settlement until the 1990s. Volginskoe sanctuary is named after the still existing Volgina village.


Rozhdestvensky settlement is a central part of the complex. From a platform magnificent views are shown. The width of the view is about 10-15 km. The view is limited from the South by Obvinsky upland. Its heihgt is 160-250 m. The distance between the upland and Rozhdestvensky village is 30 m.


The so-called "posad" existed. Its traces can be seen as a black spot on a fresh layer of arable land in a field in the spring plowing. Some things are found there from time to time: fragments of pottery, bronze ornaments, iron products, and even coins. The area of the posad is about 30 thousand square meters.


In 1869, a famous local historian A.E. Teploukhov who collected different rarities especially those connected with the ancient inhabitants of the region, visited the place. There were 557 subjects among the things that he got in his collection. They were the following. Discoveries made of iron ralniki from sohk and hook say about farming and fishing. Copper litnichki and molds are directly related to the processing of ferrous and nonferrous metals, and clay Pryaslin of spindles associated with the processing of wool or of any fibrous plants.


In 1857 the treasure was discovered. Silver things of eastern origin: a silver plate with the image of a deer, put on his neck as an ornament hoops, called grivni; a chain maid of wire, necklaces of different shapes.
