The komi-perm national theatre, Kudymkar,Perm krai

“Each nation wants to have its own theatre and be proud of it”, - the great Russian playwright A. Ostrovsky said. These words can undoubtedly be said about the komi-perm national theatre. Actually during ninety years it has been a special place for inhabitants of Kudymkar and its guests which helps them to think of their purport of life, good and bad and other imperious problems. All the seats are always engaged –people go with whole families there.

Children in Kudymkar have been trained to go to the theatre since childhood. That is why, their behavior might be unlike that of their teenagers in other towns. Since childhood they have been trained to look upon the theatre as something serious and important in life, trust like the best friend and tutor. Performances for children take young spectators into the world ofserious literature for children, of world fairy-tale classics; teach the culture of understanding the performance. Young age audience especially helps actors to stay vivid and impressive and admirable. The komi-perm theatre is always open for creative searches, ready for new authors who can express the national spirit, create truly art woks about the life of such a small but very talented nation. Since the theatre was founded performances in the native language have been very popular among audience. The most popular of them has been “Guzi da Mezi”. The story about a lazy old man and woman gained fame at the theatre festivals in Russia and abroad. In general it is not the only performance which is worthy of being awarded. Every year the actors among whom there are a lot of honored actors of the Russian Federation get all possible awards. Nowadays a 4-year building of a new theatre has been continued. It is planned to finish by the end of 2012 year. Nevertheless, the actors still make glad their admirers on the small stage of the Cultural Centre.
