Discover Your World
DISCOVER YOUR WORLD
Your work is to discover your world and then with all your heart give yourself to it.
I just came back from my short trip to the sea; I spent there 3 wonderful days enjoying fresh air and the sound of waves shining in the sun light. Swimming and tanning what can be better?
The sea was so beautiful today in the morning! The sky was mauve, so it reflected in the sea, and the sea was kind of mauve tinged with dark green and blue. So I was painting the whole morning.
I can’t say I slept well-people were dancing, singing and listening to the music the whole night, so everything I could do is just sitting on the beach and looking on the stars. This eternal university makes one feel so lonely and small. I never thought how big the university is, in fact, it’s without the end and beginning. Can you imagine anything that hasn’t the end and beginning? I can’t. It’s impossible. People got used to see the end and beginning in everything trouble times has its end (but its hard to believe in it when you are in trouble), life has its end, all the things have their end; but the universe is like the eternal circle-everything happens by its turn, seasons replace one another, the sun raises and sets, people fail and move on. Actually our life is the cyclical pattern of feelings, emotions, nature or something and whatever happens with people never reflects on universe. But whatever happens in universe can reflect on our lives. It seems like universe has its own life, it breezes, and lives, but people are like the bugs for it and nothing more. What can big man do with the noisy bug? He can slap it, right? But people take this world for granted, they take even their lives for granted, and not so many of them know that our life is a precious gift. Our lives are our own little universes, we can make it good or bad, it’s in our hands. In big university, nobody can hear your scream-you are too little, tiny I would say. But you can build your own university. Pablo Casals said, that “Each second we live is a new and unique moment of the universe, a moment that will never be again.” So the only thing we should do is not to lose the moment because losing the moment, we are losing our lives. People fear of future and the past. But the past things cannot be returned, and both future and past don’t exist. Future is what you make it; the past is what you made-good or bad, but it’s in your power-to try to live the better life if you made many mistakes in the past, so then you wont regret about it; or to always remind yourself about past mistakes and lose everything that you have and can get. But if you’re placed in difficult circumstances in present moment, try to get the best from them and learn anything new. Even if you have difficult times, there is always the road where you can rest and enjoy, and this road is called your own universe, your own world where you never go unnoticed, unheard or unseen. Your universe is like your shelter from the storm of difficulties. But if you enjoy your universe on your own, this is egoism, you should invite other your dearest and nearest people in it we all must work to make this world a little happier. Share your happy world with people who need comfort and by combined efforts people can achieve what they want happiness and attention. You are marvelous; we all are marvelous; we all may become a Shakespeare, a Michelangelo, a Beethoven as we have capacity for everything. The only question is if you really want it. If yes, nothing can stop you. Create your world, a little happier, sunnier, and brighter than this one we live in, and invite others so they could help you to build the university. Remember, that
"Your work is to discover your world and then with all your heart give yourself to it."
"Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared."
That’s how Buddha said, and that’s what I repeat for you to notice.
