The profession of a web designer

Web design is the skill of creating presentations of content (usually hypertext or hypermedia) that is delivered to an end-user through the World Wide Web, by way of a Web browser or other Web-enabled software like Internet television clients, microblogging clients and RSS readers. The intent of web design, is to create a web site—a collection of electronic files that reside on a web server/servers and present content and interactive features/interfaces to the end user in form of Web pages once requested. Such elements as text, bit-mapped images (GIFs, JPEGs, gifs), forms can be placed on the page using HTML/XHTML/XML tags. Displaying more complex media (vector graphics, animations, videos, sounds) requires plug-ins such as Flash, QuickTime, Javarun-time environment, etc. Plug-ins are also embedded into web page by using HTML/XHTMLtags.

Web design is a kind of graphic design intended for development and styling of objects of the Internet's information environment to provide them with high-end consumer features and aesthetic qualities. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

What aircraft IT specialities are in Samara? Are there many universities nearby for IT training? - Andover team

Thank you for your kind words! Now we are at school and ready to work, sorry we are late.

Aircraft specialties are numerous and parctically all the engineers and operators use IT technologies. Industries are impossible withut computers nowadays. Among them database administration, enterprise architechture, programmer, etc..

Andover team story, comments and questions for Andover team

We are very dependent on technology, whether it be for professional, educational, or personal use. We try to maximize the technology tools available to their full capacity, especially in our schools. For example, we use computers to create, network, produce movies, and complete classroom assignments.

In our region, the aircraft industry is the number one field for jobs requiring technology specialists. The IT demand is for engineering, communication, and robotics.

Other fields requiring IT specialties include medical professions, law enforcement, construction, finance, tech repair, and bioscience.

I see, that there is an aircraft industry in your region, so it is true for Samara. Do IT-professionals always need university education? Are there many important IT-specialties, that do not require bachelour or master degree? What one IT-specilty would you like to describe for other teams? --coordinator Lyudmila 10:18, 10 декабря 2009 (UTC)

Not always university education, there are quite a lot of specialties that can be taught at a technical school or elementary vocational school. We are going to describe the profession of a web-designer. What about you? - Samara school 133 team

That is interesting that you also have the aircraft industry in Samara. Our nearby town, Wichita, KS is known as the "Air Capitol of the World" as so many different aircraft building companies are located here. We have Cessna, Boeing, Hawker-Beechcraft, and Airbus.

Yes, all the IT professionals need college education to work in this industry. They primarily need a Bachelor's Degree (4 years) in Engineering or Technology Systems. They use special computer programs such as Catia (http://www.3ds.com/products/catia/portfolio/) which is a 3-D modeling program that allows the engineer to design a product on the computer and send it to be cut out in a giant sheet metal laser cutting machine. It's an amazing tool to see.

Our students at the high school (ages 15-18) use a smaller version of Catia to learn how to work with sheet metals and laser cutters. It's an introduction to the IT speciality before they go to university. We will ask our metal shop teacher if we can take a picture or short video for you.

The only IT speciality that does not require a degree from the university is for basic computer repair and networking. Most of that training is done at a 2 year technical college, and pays around $16 an hour (pretty good money here), but it is a job that is unsecure. So many people have been trained in computer repair that there are more people than jobs available.

We would like to explain more on the aircraft engineer for the teams if that is agreeable. We can also describe Technology Networking and what a Technology Director for a company or school does.

In the modern economics the main resourse is information, which is saved in digital format (Internet). If we want to have access to it, we need computers and people who will keep them working, improve their software, keep the information actual. So we need people who work with IT-technologies. People of this profession are in demand in every, sphere where civilisation entered computer age.

Which IT-specialities are the most popular in your country?

The most popular IT proffession in our country is system administratior. A lot of people have a wrong opinion that this proffession is one of the easieast among IT proffessions but it isn't. System administrator is responsible for hardware, software, webs, training newbies in programming and many others.

Nice, to "hear" your team voice! ;) So, you are going to describe the profession of "system administrator", aren't you? This one is very important for every organization. I am not sure, though, that this specialist should be responsible for all hardware, web site, for training. Hope, you'll clarify list of his activities. --coordinator Lyudmila 10:34, 10 декабря 2009 (UTC)
