As our Samara teams are not at school (flu carantine, unfortunately), let me question on your interesting texts. --[[Участник:Людмила Серых|coordinator Lyudmila]] 19:42, 23 ноября 2009 (UTC)

I see, that we are all confused to write both on the page & it's "discussion".

(The fact is, that this web site, Letopisi, is designed like Wikipedia & "articles" may be written by several authors, but comments on them should be written on the "discussion" tab.)

I see, that there is an aircraft industry in your region, so it is true for Samara.
+
Do IT-professionals always need university education?
+
Are there many important IT-specialties, that do not require bachelour or master degree?

What one IT-specilty would you like to describe for other teams?

That is interesting that you also have the aircraft industry in Samara.  Our nearby town, Wichita, KS is known as the "Air Capitol of the World" as so many different aircraft building companies are located here.  We have Cessna, Boeing, Hawker-Beechcraft, and Airbus.

Yes, all the IT professionals need college education to work in this industry.  They primarily need a Bachelor's Degree (4 years) in Engineering or Technology Systems.  They use special computer programs such as Catia (http://www.3ds.com/products/catia/portfolio/) which is a 3-D modeling program that allows the engineer to design a product on the computer and send it to be cut out in a giant sheet metal laser cutting machine.  It's an amazing tool to see.
+

+
Our students at the high school (ages 15-18) use a smaller version of Catia to learn how to work with sheet metals and laser cutters.  It's an introduction to the IT speciality before they go to university.  We will ask our metal shop teacher if we can take a picture or short video for you.

The only IT speciality that does not require a degree from the university is for basic computer repair and networking.  Most of that training is done at a 2 year technical college, and pays around $16 an hour (pretty good money here), but it is a job that is unsecure.  So many people have been trained in computer repair that there are more people than jobs available.
+

+
We would like to explain more on the aircraft engineer for the teams if that is agreeable.  We can also describe Technology Networking and what a Technology Director for a company or school does.

We are sad to hear that many of you are sick with the flu.  We are sending good wishes and thoughts your way for a quick recovery.

What aircraft IT specialities are in Samara?

Are there many universities nearby for IT training?
